Todd’s passion for decoying
big Canada geese goes back to when he was 17; he sat up from his burlap hide
amongst the frozen corn-stalks and shell decoys to take his first
finished goose. From that point on, Todd knew this is what he wanted to
do…
Todd feeds his obsession by
spending 60+ days a field each Fall regularly traveling CT, NY, MA, NJ and
eastern Canada. Convincing hard hunted honkers into those last few yards,
back-peddling is serious business and attention to details can mean the
difference between success or failure. Scouting, picking the right hide and
having a realistic spread are paramount to Todd’s success. “DSDs have
allowed me to finish birds tighter and much more consistently than any decoy
I have ever used...PERIOD”.
Todd is a member of Bill
Saunders Pro-Staff as well as Final Approach’s Field-Staff. When Todd is not
in the Goose rig or duck blind you can find him chasing love-sick gobblers
or fishing.

Chad
has hunted in the waterfowl rich Columbia Basin of Washington State from a
very early age. Waterfowl hunting has always been his main interest. This
interest has since spawned into a full time guiding job over the last six
years. The pursuit of waterfowl has also allowed him to travel to many
western states and also Alberta, Canada in search of ducks and geese.
Chad’s schedule and obsession for the sport allows him to spend upwards of
90 days in the field each season. Chad’s interest in the calling aspect of
waterfowl hunting has also led to him competing in contest calling. Since he
started competing Chad had traveled as far as Michigan and Minnesota to
compete and attend waterfowl shows. In his pursuit he has had many top
three finishes in both duck and goose contests, and has finished in the top
three in the Washing State goose contest for four straight years, including
winning the contest in 2005.

Denis has been decoying geese his
entire life and is as die hard a goose hunter as you will find anywhere.
Denis takes 2 weeks off each fall to chase geese in Alberta and hunts Nevada
and Oregon throughout the remainder of the season. Back home Denis
hunts a small population of highly pressured geese where it takes experience
and the right gear to decoy birds. When Denis is not hunting he is scouting
or hand digging pits at local reservoirs and in fields. Every year
Denis tries to get more kids into hunting and calling and has been taking
fellow Pro-staffer John David Stanley and younger sister Katie Stanley since
JD was 12 and Katie was 7.

Dan’s been hunting waterfowl
since the age of seven when his father would throw him on his shoulders and
carry him out to the duck blind. Early hunts forged a dedication and
passion in waterfowling that has taken Dan all over the state of California
along with jaunts into Oregon, Nevada and Alberta chasing ducks and geese.
Although he fanatically enjoys hunting ducks, geese are his favorite quarry
to pursue. Dan is currently a pro-staffer for Basin Abomination Goose
Calls and guides hunters for ducks and geese on the Sundance Hunt Club in
the Sacramento Valley of Northern California. When he’s not hunting
waterfowl, Dan works for the U.S. Forest Service as a Captain on the Redding
Interagency Hotshot Crew, spending a majority of the summer and fall
fighting fire all over the United
States.

Mark has been a
goose hunting fanatic since age 16. He developed his early goose
hunting skills while hunting the goose management areas of Southern Michigan
and Northern Indiana before the local goose population growth. At an
early age Mark decided the way he wanted to hunt geese was over decoys.
He became serious about learning how to decoy geese the right way, in both
field and water set ups. Through trial and error, he discovered that
attention to detail and learning to change and adapt before and during hunts
were important to being successful. Although Indiana and Michigan are
his main hunting areas, Mark has been fortunate to have made trips to the
Canadian prairies, and has hunted 3 of the 4 flyways for geese. After 30
years of goose hunting experiences, his best hunts are still ones shared
with his son Bowen, and brother Paul.
During the off
season, he enjoys fishing with his son and 2 young daughters, bass
tournaments, and anything waterfowl related.

Randy grew up
in Northwest Pennsylvania hunting waterfowl on Presque-Isle. He spent four
years living in Maryland for the Army and hunted the famous Eastern Shore
before the Canada goose moratorium was enacted. Now, Wisconsin is the base
of operations. Randy chases honkers throughout Canada, the Midwest and
western U.S. hunting around 50 days a year in the field. Showing his two
boys how to finish geese is his number one priority. During the off-season
if there is one, finds Randy fishing with his boys and pursuing Northern
Pike with the flyrod. |

Jack has been hunting geese in his home state of
Wisconsin since the age of 13. He has chased Canada Geese from California to
Texas since then, missing only a few seasons to play football at Northern
Michigan University. Canada Geese have become a year-round, full time
obsession for Jack. He gets as much excitement from scouting and
photographing the birds as he does from hunting them. Jack's passion for
finishing geese has overtaken the other types of waterfowling that he used
to pursue and is the reason he bought his first DSDs. Since his first
experiences hunting over DSDs Jack has added many more to his spread.
In addition to his role on the DSD Advisory Team, Jack is also a field
staffer for Bill Saunders Calls. |
