Giving Back | About the Project
We’re excited to introduce a new element to our Limited Series. All sales from our limited series will help raise funds for a related project.
Years ago, we had Dr. Mike Chaimberlain aka. “The Turkey Doc” on our podcast to learn more about all of the groundbreaking studies he’s heading up with the University of Georgia.
For the 25th Anniversary Hen, we couldn’t think of a better study to donate to to kick off this new way for DSD to give back. Current projects are in SC, GA, LA, TX, KY, and NE. All of these projects are similar and evaluating nesting and brooding ecology, survival, habitat use, disease prevalence, genetics, and various behaviors such as roosting ecology, movements, range sizes, etc. The work is all designed to provide agencies with rigorous information they can use to ensure sustainable management of turkey populations moving forward.
20% of the sales for this limited series will be donated to this project through the University of Georgia.Â

Following the 25th Anniversary theme, we had to do something to feature the turkey decoy that revolutionized turkey hunting back in 2008. The Upright Hen changed the meaning of realistic decoys and we had to up the stakes even more. With realistic cast legs and a fuzzy head, it doesn’t get any closer to the real thing.Â
Like any Limited Series, you get some extras included as well. This hen comes with a Limited Series riveted band, a Limited Series Certificate of Authenticity and a 25th Anniversary Metal Pin.Â
