Bronson Lasley (verified owner) –
There is no better decoy on the market than these. Lightweight, realistic and great rigging options.
George (verified owner) –
These decoys are the real deal top notch in every way and look extremely good on the water. Can tell they didn’t cut corners on anything gave us a premium decoy for a great price!
SM (verified owner) –
Very realistic, reasonably lightweight, move well in current, and lots of different tie offs to get birds facing different directions in your spread. Very pleased!
dljeskevic (verified owner) –
Best Mallard dekes out there! Exceeded expectations in appearance and movement.
Curtis (verified owner) –
Size and color excellent.
Will test durability during 25-26 season.
Need to consider making pintail decoys.
Hoppy (verified owner) –
Most realistic looking Duck Decoy’s on the market!
Money well spent!
I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on how they look.
Brian Exstrum (verified owner) –
We love how they look, the size, and the weight. Our season opens Oct 25th so we are looking forward to seeing them in the water and hunting over them for the next two and a half months. We tried a couple of different tie offs for a pond.

Hunted Sauvies Island this morning. Looked great in the water and really brought the birds in. Another great product from Dave Smith!!
Ed Nyhan (verified owner) –
Awesome decoy but I shouldn’t be surprised. The size color and movement with the keel make these decoys come to life..
Sean Doherty (verified owner) –
Just bought two dozen maxima mallards for my duck boat here in NorCal. They look great! Can’t wait to see how they bring in the birds when the season opens
Adam B (verified owner) –
Hard to put into words of how the maxima mallards look and preform. Simply put, they look like mallards and not in the new aged decoy way. In my opinion there isn’t a decoy out there that is on the same level of carve and realistic paint scheme. The size of the decoys are fantastic and have realistic movement in calm winds to hard blows. The folks at Dave Smith knocked these decoys out of the park.
James Baker (verified owner) –
Exceptionally real decoys. They are beautiful. Size, shape, color are amazing. The ducks love them! You will want to replace all your mallard decoys once you have tried these.
Evan Dennis (verified owner) –
Right out of the box you can just see the difference. I’ve never hunted over DSD or even seen any in person so I really wasn’t sure what to expect other than stories I’d heard. But when I opened my box of maxima mallards I was blown away by every detail that’s been meticulously crafted
Scorched Moose (verified owner) –

Multiple tie off positions. Decoys look great. The most realistic paint job available IMO. Thanks
Tyler (verified owner) –
Great decoy, love how they move in light wind. They keep clean really well, not sure what they put on their paint but mud doesn’t seem to stick which is amazing!

Been hunting mallards for 28 years and these decoys are by far the best mallard decoys I’ve hunted over. I flew a drone over these decoys and some other brand decoys in the pool and hands down you know which ones are the maxima decoys.. You guys at DSD aced this!!

Best Mallard decoys I have ever purchased in over 55 years of waterfowl hunting !
Nate (verified owner) –
Great decoys, took them out for a couple hunts where i was throwing them around pretty bad and they held up amazing. I had avian decoys with them and just from that one trip it was night and day how well the dave smiths are made. If your on the fence, spend the money l.
Kevin Pidone (verified owner) –
Absolutely love them! I’ve had many Mallard decoys over the years, and for the price… completely worth every penny!
David M Miller –
I’d give DSD a 10/10 ! I purchased my first turkey decoy when it was just a prototype.
They are simply the best of the best!
I’ve ran DSD logos, on ALL of my race cars in Lebanon, Banks, Cottage Grove (dirt track) and Douglas County Speedway (asphalt).
Dave is an AMAZING sculpture, and a great human!!
Jeremy (verified owner) –
These mallards are fantastic! I’ve been a fan of DSD decoys ever since the days you had to be on a wait list to buy some of his original goose decoys. And these new mallards live up to the reputation. They look amazing in hand, and even better out in the field. I’ll be buying more sooner than later. If you’re thinking about it, just make the purchase and thank me later.
Jeff Olson –
DSD are a superior decoy, definitely a big cut above the rest! My partner’s and I have both giant Canadas and maximas and we always get compliments from hunters.
Garrett Mibbs (verified owner) –
Love the size big enough to draw attention, but not cartoonish size.
Paint is phenomenal zero shine at any angle or light.
Bring on those gadwall can’t wait!
Carson (verified owner) –
These look even better in person. They feel nice and sturdy and are fairly light weight compared to other decoys of their size
Justin (verified owner) –
Look almost as good as the ACE version. Looking forward to how they hold up.
Pat Wagner (verified owner) –
Outstanding decoys. Looks like a live duck on the water and they move well on the water in a light breeze.
Nate Budsberg (verified owner) –
Best looking decoy hands down would recommend to everyone worth the money by far OUTSTANDING
Ed Nyhan (verified owner) –
Update to my review. Out of the box they look fantastic.
I hunt rice in Sacramento valley. These
Were left out for the season. They faded ! I have other brands that after same use still have good color.
I contacted DSD about it along with photos. Theirr answer was they should picked up after eash hunt.
Ed Nyhan (verified owner) –
They faded really bad after one season
