Our Jake Strutter features the same ultra realistic, attention grabbing look of our original Strutter decoy in a more portable, less intimidating size. One of the great New features of the Jake Strutter that separates him from our original Strutter, is that his wings and beard are built into his body. Simply add a tail fan and he is ready to go! (Tail fan not included).
Like all our turkey decoys, the Jake Strutter is made out of our legendary A.C.E. Technology which means that he is built to take a beating (a must for a gobbler decoy with this caliber of realism). There is no inflation required, so his rugged body will always hold it’s natural shape. Also like our other turkeys, he can even withstand an accidental shotgun blast or broadhead through the body with only minimal damage. Made in the U.S.A.

Just finished “Gobblerizing” my Jake Strutter, I added a full fan and long beard and my White Headed decoy design, I wanted this in a smaller body strutter in a gobbler format and this fit the bill.

I had really good results with the White Head Strutter last year. It was a pain to haul it and the wings with the turkey fan in its holder as well. I received my Jake Strutter several weeks ago. I agree with the other reviewers that it will be nice to not have to install the wings and beard.

First hunt had a Tom come in at full strut and postured over the Jake Strutter. Got him with a bulkhead shortly after. Love the smaller design with the wings molded in as part of the decoys. Easy to transport into the field when hiking in.

You need to kill a jake in order to use this decoy. Or buy a tail. Wish it came with a fan tail that u could switch for a real tail if u wanted. Specially for the price.

The bolt length was off of a small run where they were being cut to short and we have found a more reliable bag manufacture as well. I absolutely love the details and characteristics of this Jake strutter, switched from avian to dsd and will never think of going back to any other brand. The one issue I do have is butting the fan on, the bolt is barely long enough to get a washer and nut on it, if I were to change it, I would either put a longer bolt or make some sort of clip design to where you could just set the tail in it.

Received my strutter Jake on Friday and wow is it very lifelike! Beautiful work! I made a few modifications as I am going to use it for stalking/reaping this year as well. I was missing the stake with the decoy but it wasn’t a big deal as I was able to call and talk to an actual person instead of an automated message system and Mike got one sent out right away. Customer service is key and I will be shopping with DSD again

Wish they was 10 stars available I chose to go with the Jake to save on some weight cause I constantly move around hunt with few buddy’s different places threw out the day. Other strutters I used in the past work some time but not every time I’m not sure why it is so different to the birds but I saw 10 die over this decoy last year and I will not ever leave home without it it drives them crazy

These are the things dsd needs to fix. For $200+ this should come with a fake fan. Plain and simple.
The bolt to attach a real fan needs to be extended about 1”. Up here in the north we like to bondo the bottom of our fans to make them last. I bondod the fan I acquired, since it doesn’t come with one, and the bondo was too thick. We like it thick so the fan will last more than a season with out crazy weather here in Michigan. I had to sand down my bondo pretty much to the feathers in order to make this short stub of a connection point while still being stronger than the junk way they tell you to attach the fan.
All in all I wanted the best decoy possible and got it. There are improvements that need to still be made. Thank god I don’t have to acquire real wings so good job on that. Fix the other 2 things and you’d get 5 stars always.

The best decoy I’ve ever used… been turkey hunting 30 years and I’ve used everything . No decoys , foam flex decoys in the 90’s , hard body pretty boy strutter in the early 2000’s , avian X inflatable decoys that will eventually leak and won’t air up . All I had mixed results with until I switched to DSD and began to decoy turkeys much more frequently and efficiently. Then the Jake strutter came out and it was an absolute game changer for me . It’s hands down without a doubt the most effective decoy I’ve ever used . Its small size will decoy subordinate toms or boss gobblers… it’s my go to choice if I’m hunting a field or opening where I can be visible . It literally works every time and where I set the decoy is where I shoot the turkey .

Works incredibly well, I had 2 Jakes thrash it for more than 2 hours one morning. I was talking to the Jakes and eating snacks and drinking water where they could clearly see me. They paid absolutely no attention to me.
A couple of days later I put the Jake Strutter out in a large open field. Two longbeards saw it from over 350 yards away and came running as fast as they could and started beating up the Jake. I had very little cover, a really bad set up. I just raised my shotgun from my lap, they should have clearly seen the motion, but they were so furious with the Jake Strutter that they never noticed me move. I killed one longbeard and the other still stayed to beat up the Jake. The Jake Strutter decoy worked incredibly well. It was amazingly effective.
