Product Details

The DSD Strutter is a boss gobbler magnet. He will work on hard headed, henned up birds when nothing else will. Just set him with one or more of our hen decoys in plain sight of that longbeard that’s been eluding you and get ready for the show. If you’ve never watched a gobbler make a dead run across a field to attack a decoy then you should give the Strutter a try. Dress him up with a real tail fan and beard for the most realistic turkey decoy the world has ever seen.

Like all our turkey decoys, the Strutter is made out of our legendary A.C.E. Technology which means that he is built to take a beating (which is a good thing, cause he gets beat up A LOT). There is no inflation required, so his rugged body will always hold its natural shape. He can even withstand an accidental shotgun blast or broadhead through the body with only minimal damage. Made in the U.S.A.

*This decoy does require the addition of a real tail fan which is not included.  Beard is optional, and also not included. Decoy bag pattern may vary.

    Saw this at Cabelas and wow, the competitor full strut decoys don’t even compare. I am a bit concerned about the weight and bulky size of this one though. For the longer walk ins I will stick to the Jake decoy but this this is truly amazing in realism.

    I have owned the strutter for three years now. It can be a powerful decoy option, alone or with other DSD’s. With the addition of a real fan, wings and beard, I cant tell it from a real bird. To add the last bit of realism, I tie fishing line to each side of the fan and I can make it turn on command. It is just too much for a big tom to handle. We killed 7 birds with this setup last year, three in one set 15 minutes apart.

    This decoy has been a real game changer for me. I have shot my biggest toms over this decoy, and is unbelievably realistic. I would highly recommend this decoy along with all of Dave Smiths turkey decoys. They are a little heavy and awkward for carrying but are well worth the effort. I got rid of over 20 different turkey decoys that I owned and only use the best now, which are Dave Smith decoys. I have each one of Dave Smith decoys and they have all worked great for me.

    I have hunted Easterns in Alabama all my life and like everyone, have seen the old tom hangup at 80 yards. We used the DSD Strutter on one of these tough birds south of Montgomery, Alabama and had him commit. 1 1/4 spurs and the best bird to date for my friend who was fortunate enough to be holding the gun. It is a larger decoy so just be aware if you are attempting a run & gun concept. But highly recommend using this for those old tough birds!

    This is by far the most realistic turkey decoy I’ve ever seen or owned. The details are AMAZING! The only negative is how bulky and heavy it is. I had such a hard time lugging this guy, my DSD hen, blind, bow, etc. last year. If you’re going with a hunting buddy that can help carry the load then it’s great, or for not far distances…. Very well made!

    The most realistic and effective Tom decoy I’ve used . Fools the wiliest eastern open field toms every time . Toms rush in to fight and hens hesitate to leave when attracted in , often pulling in there strutter . Stands up to high winds and hard rain or snow . Quality product like no other .

    I borrowed this tom, two hens and a Jake decoy from a good friend and could not believe what I experienced. To start off the morning I had two Jake’s run in and proceed to attack the Jake and Tom for over 7 minutes. Once they moved on and I had snuck out to straighten the decoys back up, I watched as I called in a tom from over 500 yards. He was not able to see the decoys until the last 100 yards but you could definitely see his body language change once he did. He matched right to this Tom and I was able to arrow him before the ” fight” broke out. I captured the whole morning on video and was able to show my friends how well they worked. I’ve used many decoy setups to hunt turkeys, but I’ve never witnessed this type of reaction before. Amazing realism very durable, I strongly recommend these decoys.

    This decoy is the best on the market. It helped me kill 3 highly pressured birds in Wisconsin last year as well as helped me get my girlfriend her first turkey. My first bird of the year I had a buddy run the decoy laying in the field with it where we knew their was a trio of birds. I have never seen 3 Toms come in so fast in all my years of hunting and the look on my buddies face was awesome. He was about to get up and run as they closed the distance (200 yards) fast looking for a fight to win over the hen decoys. Looking forward to 2018 and more expierences like that.     Been in love with this decoy for a few years and finally bought him for the 2017 season. Man is he beautiful… number one fell to this strutter at the hands of my 10 year old son by 6:55 am the opening morning of the Tennessee juvenile season in 2017.

    After owning another brand and having numerous issues DSD’s are are breath of fresh “AIR” no inflating, Made In America pride as well as craftsmanship. I am proudly a lifetime DSD consumer now. The attention to detail on each decoy is second to none also if a stray pellet hits the decoys no harm is done and you aren’t left flat in the field. Carry bags are also well constructed for years of use. The Strutter is so well designed it could pass for a mounted bird, simply no other decoy on the market appears so real.

    I have been using this strutter for 3 seasons now and I will not go to the turkey woods without it. Every single bird has been shot at 15 yards or less standing right over the decoy, even on nasty cold spring days when birds are negative it draws their interest. If you are a serious turkey hunter and don’t have this decoy you are missing out!

    First off, I would like to say that this is the BEST strutter decoy on the market. The realistic paint scheme and carving is what makes it what it is. If there were any issues or downfalls to this decoy it would be that it is heavy to carry without the bag (Fan/ Wings attached) on the stake. If possible I would like to see a hard case for the fan at the least because the wings are not a necessity. This would keep my fans from getting torn up from transport and allow me to carry the decoy into the field with the bag provided. Thank you for a great decoy and great customer service!

    I have shot several gobblers off the back of this strutter and the pellet holes just close up. You can hear them rattle a little inside, but no visual effect. Great decoy. Worth the money.

    Ive had the strutter for 3 years. Its realism is totally unmatched with other decoy options available. It seams to me early in the season if if u add movement it will bring in almost every tom i have had a couple before i added movement come in to 80 yards and hang up i recomend putting some movement. It is a little bulky to carry especially with a blind, but its effectiveness in the field definatly out weighs the wheight n size of the decoy. The wings do make this decoy look amazing i have just as good of luck without them if im running and gunning. I recommend this product i also have the upright hen work great togeather n plan to own all of them at sum point in my hunting career. hope this helps good luck this spring

    This decoy has been the biggest single handed change to our success rate from 4 to 5 trips per bird to 2 or less trips per bird. If you can get this decoy in front of a mature gobbler and remain hidden 9 times out of 10 he will come with in range to this decoy. Now the only draw back to it is a jake or non dominate bird will be timid of it at times. I have held this decoy in my hand and “fanned” over a dozen birds to with 5 yards. (Merriams and Easterns) it is a little bit heavy. I will take the weight to have the quality. My only wish is for a good comfortable back style bag maybe with a extra pocket or 3 on it. The carrying bag can be a little awkward on long walks.
