The Posturing Hen is a decoy that’s designed to decoy hens just as well as it decoys gobblers.This decoy represents a hen that is raising her feathers in an act of dominence to let other hens know she is the boss. While this pose is super effective on Toms, it’s specifically designed to enrage the boss hen of the flock.
We’ve all had a tom that is gobbling back at everything you give him, but he just won’t leave his hen, and why should he? We’ve found that the best strategy to get him in range is to switch your focus onto the hen he is following. This decoy does exactly that by essentially challenging that hen and forcing her to come into your setup to establish herself as the leader…and guess who will be following in right behind her.
Turkeys spend much of their time aggressively establish a pecking order throughout the entire year and gobblers arn’t the only ones that fight to put themselves at the top of that hierarchy. We’ve had so many responses from customers who got to watch the hen come in, strut, and peck the heck out of the posturing hen in anger.

I was on the fence to buy this decoy. Being the ace material it is a softer plastic. Not too heavy, light enough to run and gun. Killed a hung up gobbler because of this decoy, hen came in and beat the crap out of it. That’s when it was all worth it. They react better than I’ve ever seen.

Awesome decoy! Had a hen come up and beat it up for 10 minutes, then she stayed around the hen and my strutter decoy for about half an hour, then the Tom showed up, 8 inch beard 1 inch spur. Needless to say one less gobbler in central northern Pennsylvania! Definitely worth the money.

This thing is awesome. Super great detail and realism. I hunted my first season with it last year. Every turkey that saw it responded positively. A few times it relaxed a lone hen while another time a pair of hens came in and beat the tar out of it. I filled my tag on an 8 inch bearded tom. He came in with 7 jakes, then jumped up on top of the decoy and tried to breed it when I shot him at 17 yards.

I bought this hen and the 3/4 strut Jake and I love them both. They aren’t that hard to carry by myself, but so easy to carry with a second person. I run both quite often. But I wanted the postering hen because if I can make a hen angry it’ll be no problem killing the tom! The detail is phenomenal and the decoys do a lot of work for me now. Can’t wait to get back out this spring
