This groundbreaking set of decoys accurately represents a jake in the act of trying to mount a hen. Simply pull on the jerk cord to start the young gobblers gyrating motion and watch one longbeard after another lose his mind in a fit of rage like no other decoys have ever inspired! This pair mimics a Jake trying to balance on top of a hen that is ready to breed. This sends gobblers a message that they only have seconds to rush in and take over. The hand operated motion system is simple, effective and legal in most states.
Like all our turkey decoys, this pair is made out of our legendary A.C.E. Technology which means that they are built to take a licking and keep on ticking. There is no inflation required, so their rugged bodies will always hold their natural shape. These two decoys are awesome. I have experienced jakes trying to mate with my other DSD hens and the motion this jake makes is the exact same. As always these are the most realistic set of turkey decoys I have ever seen. Can’t wait for the spring. I would like to see some black matte finished eye bolts to run the string through. I will be blasting the chrome off with the torch. Other than that this set is awesome.

I have used Avian X decoys for the past 5 years. The Dave Smith decoys are even more realistic than the Avian X and holds their shape much better. Can withstand being shot and not deflate or have to blow up each time they are used. They are also lighter and I like the bags being solid better than the mesh and not getting hung on limbs or briars so much. These are the best decoys I’ve seen since turkey decoys were introduced in the market. Great job and I know all the first time hunters I carry each year will be as impressed as I am. This will be a mid to late season winner for sure.

I have been turkey hunting for 14 years. I thought I had it all figured out, after many successful hunts. Two years ago I purchased this set and have added a important missing part to my bag of tricks. I have never had an many close encounters as I have since purchasing these decoys. On several occasions I have had toms come in, attack the Jake, and breed the hen. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I would recommend these to anyone. Super realistic! I have been trying to use cheaper decoys to get turkeys into bow range for a several years now. They work sometimes, but there have been many times they have shied away at the last minute. There is no doubt the realism of this pair will completely fool Toms and bring more birds into bow range for me. I have always been impressed with DSD decoys in videos but I am even more impressed to finally have them in hand. I can’t wait to try them out. Counting down the days to Youth Season.

Used the Mating Motion Pair yesterday for opening day of Youth weekend and ol’ Tom came in running shortly after daybreak. He went straight into attack mode and spurred the Jake for a while! Inspected the Jake afterward and couldn’t find any damage. Thank you very much DSD for a quality product and helping a young hunter to get her first turkey! Modifications I did are: 1- Paint the eye bolt stakes as they are very visible. 2- Used three extra stakes to hold the pull rope down, along its length, to keep it from jumping off the ground.

Set up blind and decoys in a wide open field. 15 min in to the season had two large gobblers come running in didn’t even make one call quickest hunt ever. The next day same thing set up where the decoys could be seen a long way one call and another large gobbler came running to decoys unbelievable the just have to see them and you are going to get a shot at one or two great decoys .

Absolutely the best decoy on the market. This is the real deal! Have tried other competitors but nothing compares to this decoy. The gobblers came running to the field and never stopped until the fight began. They simply can not stand it. My first three gobblers were within ten yard! Keep up the good work Dave Smith. Finally got my first gobbler today 04/01/2023. I have to give thanks to DSD, the gobbler saw the mating pair and sprinted at it. I confess I didn’t think it would make that big of difference but I’m glad to say I was wrong. Absolutely worth the cost.

The answer, ditch the elastic string that came with it! It has multiple feet of stretch…Looks like the dude has ED. I replaced that with 30 pound fishing braid, 20 should work as well.
Next level upgrade… I had a broken rod handle, put a bait caster reel on it…easy play out string, easy retrieval, no fouled string!!!
